Invent a phobia
Just do it, now. You should know what a phobia is. if not, it's a fear.
Example: aracnaphobia, the fear of aracnids, or spiders.

I thought crabophobia was what made maiden aunts put toilet paper on the seat in a public toilet before sitting down.
