24.

Try this one:

I'm as small as an ant, as big as a whale. I'll approach like a breeeze, but can come like a gale. By some I get hit, but all have shown fear. I'll dance to the music, though I can't hear. Of names I have many, of names I have one. I'm as slow as a snail, but from me you can't run. What am I?

It's a riddle that takes advantage of human perception wanting to put thing in order or in certain pattern.

Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected murderer. They don't know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they've got their man?

(haven't figured the above) -- got it, either death or old age.
Also to the above, give the explanation, the simple answer isn't good enough.

Well, there is an answer. And the hints make sense once you figure it out, so it's not one of those fake ones that are just designed to bother people.

I meant the explanation for the 24 0's since without the actual working out it could just be a google.

Also, on third try I think it might be a shadow.

How can you drop something 10 feet so that it doesn't break(yes, this riddle automatically assumes its something that if dropped 10 or more feet, it will break).

The rest had name tags, but firemen don't? Hmm... But I'm still working on the ten feet one... And yes, the answer is shadow haha.

I used factorials and counted the number of zeros in the final product. Kind of a pain in the ass, haha. I googled it after to see if it was right though, and apparently there's an easier way to do it.

Nametags is one of the right answers, the easier and better answer is to say that only the fireman is a male

And yes, thats how you work it out the hard way t.t

The 10 feet one is basically the epitomy of "oh common" lateral thought problems

There are six eggs in the basket. Six people each take one of the eggs. How can it be that one egg is left in the basket?

Aha, nice.

You put a parachute on the object dropping?

One person took an egg from somebody else?

You have two hourglasses. One of them takes 10 minutes to empty, and the other takes 6. How can you time exactly 12 minutes using only these two hour glasses and nothing else?

Because seven eight nine

You drop it 11+ feet, so it doesn't break for the first 10 feet is the right answer.

The last person too the egg while it was still in the carton, so one egg remains in the carton.

In the middle of the ocean there is a yacht floating, and several corpses nearby. What happened?

Sorry, I asked the hourglass one wrong. How do you time 14 minutes using only the two hourglasses? That's a bit harder.

For the yacht one, I can only really think...
- There's a murderer on the ship or something killing people then throwing their bodies off.
- The yacht floated through a failed prison break.
- Everyone wanted to swim and died in the water?

for the hourglasses riddle:
first flip both of the hour glasses together,
when the 6 minutes glass ends, flip them both again (so 6 min has been done), at that point there is only 4 minutes left in the 10 minutes glass.
once the 10 minutes glass ends i flip them both again (now i've done 10 min), at this point the 10 min glass is empty and the 6 min glass has made 4 min.
so i flip them both again and when the 6 minutes glass is done, i would have made 14 minutes exactly.

mystery: your riddle is a mystery, corpses near a yacht!!!!, it's more as a question, but make me very suspicious as if there is a trick in the riddle wording : S

It's a lateral thought riddle, every word matters but so does the thought process.

is there a boat shipping the corpses that is near the yacht ?
the ladder was long enough when they were on the boat, but after they got in the water the loss of their weight mean the boat floated slightly higher and the ladder is out of their reach?
they never put the ladder down?

also, for the one i posted awhile ago, one brother was executioner the other brother was being executed.
