A boat without sails or oars? Have fun dying at sea.
I'd bring a hunting knife.

I wouldn't be quite as anxious to leave. Just leave me with some mosquito repellant, and I'll do just fine.

Kaytea, not to sound crass, but can you sail a boat?
I still stand, with the hunting knife. I can get food, make shelter, etc.

Well, most deserted island are like tropical climate, in movies anyway.
Although wouldn't it be fun to be stuck on a deserted Arctic island?
In which case, I still pick hunting knife.
I don't think I can see any foreseeable scenario that would get me to change that, unless it was arctic climate & I was naked. In which case, I might still pick hunting knife, because I could kill a seal or something.
Or I might just go with a parka.

well if the island is tropical i'd take two things (one isn't physical), Knowledge of what plants and animals are edible and a survival torch (the one with a cavity in it that has a hunting knife, a compass, string and a small amount of painkillers). Don't you just love what the US and Britich armies come up with?

Is the torch gas powered, or electric, just out of curiosity?

electric with a long battery life time of six weeks use (if used every two days) and solar panels on the top so it can store energy taken from sunlight.

Someone I could talk to, and have sex with. For the rest of time.
