    Simile game,

Similes compare two different things indirectly using the words “like” “as” or “than”, for example, “He climbed like a monkey”, “She was as fat as a house”, “He was faster than a speeding bullet”.

So the game is to complete the simile the last person set up and then set up a new one for the next person. You can, of course, use the normally accepted form for example if someone gave you “He swam like ...” you could finish it “He swam like a fish”, on the other hand you might want to finish it “He swam like a bicycle”.
So, would someone like to finish this and give us a new one to think about?

I felt terrible and looked like a Victorian.

Taking Mr Buckle's suggestion a little further, why not up the ante a bit and make these similes really clever? Any fool can write I was as spacey as Kevin. But how about stuff of the calibre of "Positron emission tomography makes danse macabre look like the Teddy Bears' picnic"?

C'mon people, this is supposed to be a writers' site, not a kindergarten.

Yes but now we are stuck because Mr Ox failed to give us the lead so I shall ignore his suggested response to his own question,

Positron emission tomography makes danse macabre look like a two dimensional, ontological event expressed in terms of old fashioned Newtonian Physics.

She would rather attend a Teddy Bear's picnic than shave a friend with a quick trick slick Schick.

The arrow whizzed faster than a particle in a high energy electron collider, or so it seemed.

    Stop Press!

I have had a long day down the smoke. I’ve had radio-active glucose injected into my body (Olly dons foil hat.) I’ve been trundled in and out of a scanner. I’ve had words with the staff. I’ve endured peak hour city traffic to get back to my haven. Iyam tired. When I recover I may consider your words.

Stymied again! Never mind I'll answer my own question and pose another. I get pleasure from it.

The frozen pond in the valley, with a few ducks standing forlornly on its surface, was as inviting as the stubbled chin of a six foot syphilitic masseur at a Canadian outdoor swimming pool in January.

Are you allowed to use a word like syphilitic on a family-friendly site?

Being refused entry by the gorilla in a monkey suit was like having a thread locked by a site owner (as an easy way out of answering a tricky question)
