Help on College Project

Hey guys, for my college project I have decided to try and convert a song into an acoustic version and then perform it. Does anyone have any ideas on songs that would be good for this. They would preferably be a song that is mainly utilising a keyboard or other different instrument to make the changeover to acoustic more noticeable and effective.
Thank You
Dan Bradley

How about erm...something by Keane? Or Coldplay? Or maybe if you want to try something totally different, and quite challenging, something by Jamiroquai or Klaxons?!

Anything by Radiohead should do. Good luck, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

You could try something from the electronica genre - Tricky, Portishead, Goldfrapp, Massive Attack and Dirty Vegas have some songs that would translate well.

If you wanted something that involved the keyboard a five for fighting song might be a good choice. Good Luck

Maybe something well-known and famous, or something in which you have to really change it to make it an acoustic version. Doing coldplay and Keane is good, but it's been done so many times you want something to get you those marks, something unique.

Tom.

Could be cool to pick a hip-hop or RnB song that's largely based on drums and bass, and slow it down, bring out the melody. Maybe some Beyonce or Mary J Blige or Usher.

I found a swing version of Metallica's Enter Sandman on a file sharing site a while back. It was very weird but strangely attractive. An acoustic version might work.

Sometimes rock songs are great for acoustic versions as the difference from the original can be startling. Look for AC/DC songs maybe (try listening to what the Hayseed Dixies have done for inspiration).
