I can see your predicament, but other writers have overcome it by using standard English throughout, without any 'unnecessary' complications.
I'm thinking about Salman Rushdie and VS Naipaul as examples. They use standard English, their 'native language', to write about different cultures from earlier historic times.
What they have in common is their expert knowledge of the times they are writing about, as well as their outstanding writing abilities, which has taken both right to the top of the writing pile.
I was going to conclude that they both use standard English, which they do, but it's brilliantly executed, and their characters' strange sounding names and the often even stranger settings are perfectly catered for in the English language.
