hi and 1st question

Good evening. I'm new here and also new to forums. However, I have a project I'm interested in writing and have a question before I dive in, if I may? My project involves what I would call a compilation of interviews. For example, a book asking experts what the perfect flower would look like and perhaps having them sketch it. Assuming I would be able to collect enough material, would I be allowed to include their name and ideas?
cheers

Hi, welcome to the forums!

Sounds like you're talking about a kind of scrapbooky collection of interviews, which would be really interesting. I don't see any reason why you couldn't do that. You'd have to give credit to everyone, of course. The only thing I'm not sure about is who you'd contact to publish a book like that, or what kind of market it has. Maybe you should find a book similar to what yours would be like and research its publisher.

Oh, and I think this is posted in the wrong subforum.

Hi Wow, thanks for the quick reply perilperilperil (triples are cool...I use one for my skype ID). Checking one out is a great idea. I'll have to ask at the library about a book like that. The subject is a little more "out there" and I think marketable. I best keep the specific idea to myself. I was giving it more thought and I could include a request for permission to use it with the requests.

Send a message via Skype™ to Mike C
Tell your subjects the interview is for publication, and get permission to use their sketches.
