Common Faults in Short Stories

The Willesden Herald lists the problems in short stories submitted for a recent contest in which no winner was awarded. It's very instructive, though a bit long.

I loved the part about the entrant who considered 220 pages a short story.

It's free, but even if it wasn't, they state in the submission guidelines that they might not select a winner if a certain standard of quality isn't achieved. I actually respect that.
