Fellow Forum Members Please Help!*
I have a paper due and honestly I have put it off until the end. I know this isn't smart and I seldom ever do put one off.
The paper is to cover the changes in medical history from 1925 to present. I know nothing of the medical field and I am uninspired concerning this topic.
Could some of you perhaps point me in the right direction, maybe a medical condition that is informative if not interesting? Some good reads concerning this topic would be useful? Please help me out I'm truly stuck.

Laser surgery, Viagra, AIDS, transplant technology, genetic engineering, cloning, cosmetic procedures, where do you want to start?

Does mental diseases count? If they do, that's what I'd go for. The treament of psychic illness have changed incredibly since the 20's.

Robin, the changes is medical history from 1925! That's a vast subject which you could write a thesis on! I'd say the most fundamental one happened three years into your timeline. One morning in 1928, Sir Alexander Fleming discovered a bluish-green mold on one of his Staphylococcus plate cultures. He discovered that this mold was inhibiting bacterial growth. He later went on to create penicillin from it, and is regarded by many as the man who created painkillers.
There are others like the discovery of DNA, epidurals for women giving birth, cloning, the discovery and cures for various diseases, the breakthrough of using chemotherapy to fight cancer. These are just some off the top of my head. I will try and think of some more for you.
Sam.

The development of antibiotics and anesthetics are probably what has changed it the most during that period from the users point of view. A lot of technological change has happened very recently and won't give you the same sort of time scale.

Yes Faustling, mental diseases count. Okay now I have a place to start, know of any good sites or periodicals?
Great ideas Vic!
I like cloning and I like mental illness. Now I have a place to start , know of any good sites or periodicals, since I don't have time to aimlessly google the field.
Thank You Sam and Olly. It is a broad topic isn't it?

Thank-you omg! I didn't even think about that one.
I probably need to calm down and use my head, but I was up half the night trying to get something together. I finally gave up and played some games on the WF. Obviously that didn't help.
