Names in Fantasy

Hi Guys, Just wanted some help

I am starting to write a fantasy book and was trying to come up with the names and im not sure to have normal names or fantasy type names.

would be weird for the main character to be called John!!

but coming up with a whle book of made up names also looks weird to me.

a couple I came up with are Olphic and Honomas.

There will be several races in the book and I am not sure how to proceed.

Any help would be appriciated.

John's a very common name. Whether it will work in a fantasy book, I'm not so sure. Try this website: Seventh Sanctum. It's good for randomly generating names, ideas, and other stuff that should help you out.

Your friend, Sam.

Fantasy names are pretty lame.

You could try altering real names from foreign languages.
