I started writing in primary school and got hooked on it. Now you can't stop me!

Okay, simple answer: I write because I love it. That's it. There's no list of two-hundred reasons, dogs shatting outside doors, or anything else. It all boils down to that one little thing: love. If you don't love to write, then I'm afraid you're wasting your time writing.
Sam.

i do it because awhile back i got an idea in my head i wanted to carry out, and than down the road more ideas piled up. so i figure if I'm gonna do it, i might as well try and learn the craft and do it right.

I write because I found out I was good at it (I forgot how) and didn't have any other things I wanted to do. Also, I don't like manual labor or being outside for long periods of time.

I started writing because I had a lot of free time on my hands. At age 9, I had no friends, I was pathologically shy, and I lived in a house where my mother chose to do all the chores herself rather than force her daughters to do them, or teach them how to do them right. I was also a fairly advanced reader, and science fiction and romance novels, along with others, had kindled in me a huge imagination.
It just so happens that this morning I realized one of the reasons why I still write: To recapture the pure childhood happiness that came from losing myself in worlds that I created. Despite the fact that I now have adult responsibilities, as well as an official creative writing degree, it all goes back to those long days and nights sitting on the carpet with a pen and a spiral notebook.
