Agents(part 3) Didn't expect it?

Thank you again for reading this. I appreciate.
Is there another way to publish your creation? Except agents, because I heard about self-publishing. What's that and are there any alternate ways of publishing?
Oh, and another tiny question: How do you count the words in your novels?
Thank you for your time.

If you typed it on the computer then you use a word count tool, otherwise you have to count every word one at a time

This site will tell you the basics of self publishing, how to copyright your book and the costs of self publishing.

Lots of publishers don't use agents, especially nonfiction publishers. Depends on your book and its genre.

Use the word count tool in your word processor program, otherwise, hand written single spaced pages generally equal about 3 typed pages, although this is not a scientific way of getting word count numbers.

You could try Lulu but you need PR and promotion as well. Anyone can self-publish, doesn't mean people will buy it.
