One of the main drawbacks to self publishing is the difficulty in getting your books into chain stores. Stores like B&N purchase their books through distributors like Ingram. The big qualifier is that only books that can be returned for credit are available through distributors. Self published books are not. Good luck.

This wouldn't be a sneaky, disingenuous question would it? Especially since it focus on B&N?

Because iUniverse has a program to get it's author-financed books into B&N outlets. (Other than that, few see iUniverse as a good way to spend money)

If you're just trying to pimp iUniverse, you can just come out and do it. This forum doesn't require cute fake questions like that. (People will sneer and spit, but it's okay by the rules)
