The snowflake
I was just wondering how you all design your work, i myself have not written anything yet but when i start (Really soon) i will be using the snowflake method. I found this method while browsing the net and thought it was excellent and very detailed.

Doesnt sound like a bad idea.
However, I try to stay away from "methods" they can be too rigid and if you don't comply with the method you may start thinking your novel is no good. This may not be true. Be wary of "methods" they are typically old ways of doing things that have crystallised. Try a new method or anything that makes you feel most comfortable and write your best.
Good luck with the novel!

Hilarious stuff. Only bother actually writing the novel during the 'hiatus waiting for the book to sell'? It's literature, Jim, but not as we know it. And when he mentioned constructing spreadsheets, I almost fell off my chair.
In a happier world, books would be like that old cliche of snowflakes - each one different. Sadly they're not, and it's partly the fault of morons like this and their clever-dick methods.

The author of the Snowflake method isn’t the only one to advocate the use of a spreadsheet for organising chapters, scenes, whatever, in writing a novel.
I can see it has its uses, especially for someone with a tidy mind and who likes to plan things out.
It’d be a sad old world if we were all cast in the same mould. Imagine if all the Man Utd supporters were on your side – you’d have no one to jeer at when the Minstermen scored.
Live and let live, my son.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm glad there's people writing these ludicrous essays. Because it does indeed give me someone to jeer at. And I'll continue jeering at them with all my might.
Incidentally, it's nice to know someone sitting "out in the bush" in Australia knows York City's (admittedly unfortunate) nickname. And could maybe name the date and scorers of the time we put three past Man Utd without reply.

20th September ‘95?
I think Barnes was one of ‘em. Forget the other feller. Barras maybe.
