Looking for something.
My sister suggested the other day that I put Karmenren and some other work on the internet, to let more people read it. I liked the idea so I want to find a suitable site where I can put it. She suggested something like a fan ficton site but one not restrained by the whole fan bit. Does anyone know of a site that will do for this? After all, I can't really post the entire thing on this board. It's a little too long for that.

Do you have any intention of getting it published in the future?

Once you post it on the Internet for public consumption, it will be next to impossible to have it published in any other fashion. Posting a portion or a sample would be a better idea unless you have no plans to submit it for publication.

If you have no plans for publication I think FictionPress.Com : would probably be the best site for what you suggest, and you'd also be able to get feedback on your writing.

*coughs* If you're not above promoting your own content and want to make a tiny amount from it, might I suggest Triond? They publish original fiction/articles (much like Associated Content) but it's up to you to promote it. (Look at the link in my signature about 'published works')
Have I made a lot? No. I haven't. But I have made a little, and every little bit helps yes?
( Disclaimer: I don't get a commission/finder's fee for referring anyone.)

I've not had much luck getting it published anyway. No one seems to want it, so it can't really hurt. Plus it might well improve my chances of getting later work published if I've already managed to prove that people like my work. I'll take a look at those sites. Thanks.

check out lulu.com. You can "publish" it as an e-book and ask a little bit of $$$ for it or let it go free.

while I love lulu.com, I think the best bet in this scenario is something like fictionpress or another similar site and here is why...
with lulu you will have to direct people to the story and promote it with a website or blog or myspace page... (not a bad idea mind you)
with fictionpress people will be browsing the site and you may get a lot more "accidental" hits than you would with lulu.

I'm a little confused. I was expecting people to read my book now, not tell me how to redecorate.
