Censorship is an irony, isn't it?

TT, you kill me. And I'd never dream of censoring you, it's too funny watching where you'll stumble next. You're entitled to your opinion, and I respect it every bit as much as I respect every other post of yours. That is, not a lot.
Oh, and you'd better look up 'irony'. Censorship isn't.

That's a little pathetic, now isn't it? Knowing how to write has nothing to do with getting published... look at Eragon, for instance.

Always thought the max length was about 3,000 words and no more than that. Didn't know it was a tad flexible or could go past that.

I like to think I manage both reasonably well, TT is just having a tantrum.
David, you should always check the submission guidelines of thee mags you intend to submit to. They'll give you the lowdown on what they want.

You know you're not good. Don't tell me you actually think you're good.
Cause I'm going to start rolling on the floor and howling.

B-a-i-t-i-n-g.
And so blatant, I have to wonder at the motive.

Thanks Mike, though I've never tried writing short stories yet. (Has crossed my mind though.) I've been going off those writers mags. Not that I read them however.
I'm glad to know that if I decide to write a short story though and attempt to get it published, I 'might' not nessecarily be limited to 3,000 words. Gives me more leeway.

Which makes me wonder if you're actually wondering.

sorry, but that's silly... i say that when the other person is clearly so pig-headed there's no likelihood he'll ever admit that i'm right!

I don't see why an editor's writing would have to be atrocious. Many editors are highly published, and seek out editing afterwards as a secondary venue to help bring decent writing into the world. If you think midwifing a story is the skill of untalented hacks, either you've tried it and done a very poor job, or you've not tried it.

It's really pretty bad kharma to mess up a query from a young writer like this. Here's a newbie trying to get something straight and he ends up hearing BS from people like TruthEvader and Mama and ends up wondering what the hell.
Don't pay ANY attention to the Truthless one. He says everybody's work is bad, but has not shown any of his own.
Mike is right about lengths and reception at magazines. Yes Virginia, length is important.

In your case, possibly a more eloquent means of communication. TT, grow up. There's only one person looking stupid here, and I don't think it's me.

What, you don't think people look debonair while rolling on the floor and howling?
They let him do that, actually. But when he starts smearing feces, they generally apply a little restaint. And don't let him lick his fingers.

Is it really necessary to flame Mike for being right? Can't you just say "okay, I was wrong."? Or just shut up and not post anything more at all on the subject?
Seriously. Grow up.
