Nah, it was a fine example. Lots of people LOVE the dark tower series. Just not my personal fave is all

Yep, I do the same thing.
I think what helps is just to pick one, the one that you like the most, or the one you think will be most easily publishable, etc.
Write that one, fix it up a bit, and then move on to another one.
Sometimes I find that it helps to have several projects going on at once, though. If you get bored with one, you can just move on to another. However, yes, I'll admit it has its downsides; you constantly get out of the loop with really understanding your characters/plotline if you keep jumping around.

I have had the same problems of not sticking to one book. Most stories I write end up in my File 13.
