It's just a rejection. As others have said, there'll be plenty more, it goes with being a writer.

Well, perhaps try GUD then. I bought the first issue (Issue 0) and thought it was good. Paper copy was worth the money. PDF would be good value.

Cheers,

Rejection is part of the business. You write well or else they wouldn't have given you a personal note back. Next time you send something to a paper or a publisher, make sure it fits their normal criteria. Look at what they've published in the past and see where what you wrote could fit in.

A letter of rejection simply means that a particular editor does not need your submission, at that particular time, and it can be for many reasons; it doesn’t mean that your work is unworthy, and you may well have inadvertently submitted to the wrong medium.

Of course any rejection is disheartening, and sometimes it takes a while to dust yourself down and start again, but our own writing voice doesn’t appeal to everyone, much as we would like it to. I tend to write harshly, don’t shirk from the reality as I see it, believe that sex does happen in life, and fairy tale endings are for the birds (most of the time).

It means that around 30% of editors will automatically reject my work, so I try not to submit to them.
