There's just no time anymore.
I used to write short stories fairly often, but for some reason I haven't written one in a few months. I keep thinking of ideas and telling myself to write it down, but when I do have free time, I always choose to do something that takes less thinking. I guess this is sort of a stupid post. Maybe I actually know the answer myself, but does anyone have any suggestions for inspiration to get going again?

Your problem doesn't seem to have anything to do with inspiration.
Sounds to me like your more interested in doing other things,
but you know it would probably be more lucrative to spend your
time writing, hence this thread.
When you actually feel like writing, you probably will do more.
Forcing yourself to do it when you don't really want to may work,
but i find when i try to do that my work suffers a little in quality.

The hardest part is getting started. For me, the entire August through October is dominated by football. The litte spare time I had I'd rather spend resting. I just turn off the writing part of my brain and wait. Come November, I start planning, and the moment December hits I force myself to write.

You could try setting aside some time each day (or most days) for writing. It might only be 30 minutes, but set the time aside and find some space for it. This is your writing time. Write whatever you feel motivated to write. It doesn't matter if it's just a freewrite with no intention of ever having it polished, but it'll help you to get back into the habit. To be honest, it doesn't matter even if you don't write a word, but by making that your writing time and sitting down to do so you might find some inspiration, and at least you'll be avoiding doing those other things for that 30 minutes, which might help too.

if you are more interested in doing other stuff why pressure yourself to write? if you aren't enjoying writing as much as other activites then don't write, save it for a rainy day.

^^I know some might consider this advice controversial, but I totally agree.
Not everyone is going to be a WRITER (all caps) or even a Writer (init cap). I daresay most people are writers (little w). Take the pressure off yourself. Think of writing as fun that you have whenever the mood hits you. If, after having fun for a while, you decide to get serious, then see where you can put more time in.
