sometimes it seems its not about looking at something you've written and thinking that it's crap, but that you just cant get a thing out and you find that you are instead detailing every inch of an unimportant wall...

The enemy of writer's block is planning. I previously had it constantly, but when I simply planned on little note cards rather than wrote, when I did start writing, I just kept going untill I was done.

Yeah, but there's downfalls to planning. Believe me, I've tried it.
You want to take a story one direction, and then a brilliant idea pops into your head that would be better.
You then have to re-work thousands of words of writing. |

or simply you need to get from one planned spot to another. When you start planning pgae by page, well, thats what writing is....

But really it all depends how creative you are.
I myself would hate to plan every single thing I've written down to the last detail...planning a bit is fine, but not every single turn in a story.
I like to kind of play it out how it goes along...usually, I work out the beginning and the end in my head, and just start writing what goes in between. |

I don't plan anything, only because that's writing to me, once I start planning its just writing. I know the begining, the end, and a few vague points inbetween. The rest just comes out as I go along...

I wasn't going to reply but... meh.
Mkay, so it does have everything to do with how you feel... but sometimes being extremely happy isn't always the best thing.
If I'm trying to write a more... I guess emotion part in a story and I'm to happy to think on the down side, then it'll all come out as mush attempting to be sad.
Then it isn't technically writers block, but it's still staring at a computer screen wishing that the right words would come out when they're not.

eh, it varies from writer to writer, I write my best stuff, depressing or not, when I'm happy. The happier I am the better.
