For those who have trouble with editing...
like me, I have found a great technique. This only works if you're someone who always types their stuff first, like me. I've found that it helps if you handwrite your story first, then edit it as you type it.
It works. Just thought I'd give a tip. Lemme know if it works for you!

The technique used by me for my professional writing is to type something and then print it and edit it the next day or later. It is too easy to overlook things on a computer screen that stand out like the proverbial on the printed page. Editing a day (or more) later makes it easier to spot the various errors as well.

Yeah I'd agree with printing it out. There are some really simply mistakes that can be made but not noticed on screen. Yet, when held in your hands the mistake becomes instantly clear to you.

I guess if you wrote it out, you;d catch a lot of things, but you'd have to revision what you wrote out, then what you type up, then what you print out...

i long write everything, and it help with the editing part. i use to type everything on the computer, but when i would look and not just my spelling/grammar would be off my sentences weren't complete. i think it is because i think faster than my fingers can type and my mind would just overload.

Reading it out loud helps, too.
So does reading it backwards from the end.
And I like (when it works out) to write longhand and then revise on the fly as I type it into the computer...sometimes, when this works well, I barely read the longhand version.

I agree. It is alot more easy to correct something or catch a mistake when you are writing it out.
I write it out, then rewrite it, then I will type it using WORD with spell check( my spelling is horrible.)

Very true. If you don't take the time to edit, you'll most likely miss a big mistake that could cost you.
