Margin settings in MS word - Writers Forum

Could one of you more experienced people out there tell me what margin settings gutter etc i should use for a journal / book i am writing about my experiences being treated for cancer. I am writing it to take my mind of things and would like to print it out and publish it or whatever you do in the future, all help would be greatfully accepted, even if you just want to correct my spelling grammar etc in my posts.

One inch margins are usually the norm.

if you're just writing it for yourself, or to print on your own, any margin you like is ok...

if you intend to submit it to agents or publishers, margins must not be less than 1' and 1.25' is pretty much the standard... plus, you'll also have to double-space the ms and should use a serifed 12 pt font... courier seems to be the most-preferred and is easiest for agents/editors to read, imo...
