sangfroid is on a distinguished road
I'm writing scene by scene, and not in any particular order. The scenes kind of appear in my mind, and once I've got them down it's then a matter of finding ways to piece them together with a plot that doesn't sound contrived. I don't know if it works yet since I haven't finished...but I'm seeing my story and characters develop and grow before my eyes.

I have found plot outlines to be pretty useless, since once I've written down a plan, I lose the motivation to put it into action. If that makes sense.

Nickie is an unknown quantity at this point
I think out some scenes, which are essential to the plot. But once I start writing, I go from start to finish.

I'd be happy to point you that way, FA. Drop me a PM and I'll give you directions to find it.

Oh, and sorry about the delay. I was away from the computer for a while.

Damn I hate puzzles.
I think thats the main problem writer's have and I think it's a problem that really should not matter.

I think that most author's have the preconception that there first draft will be their best draft, this in fact is not true and is why most authors tend to have their novels just become one pile of shit. By the time you come to the point where you do feel that it is done and you don't have to edit, add or revise any more you will have written several drafts.

The first draft or the first time you write your novel should be shit and it should bascially just outlining events and seeting a general outline. Then once you've written all that, no matter if you've revealed everything in the first chapter go back and decide what will go in what chapter, this is the easiest manner and then start finetuning events and everything in your novel.

I think that's the best way to get the best result out of your novel.

And keep in mind, the first draft should be a complete shithouse.

this works for me as well. so far. cause i dont sit down and try to write start to finish, thats insanity. to the max. i started with an easy goal: write a series of pomes about .. the subject.. and i sort of know where i want the story to go, but i just let loose and go insane. in my writing. *ahem* it is an adventure. you dont know what will happen along the way, or how it will end, but you know where youre going. i didnt plan to write as much as i have, the idea of a novel is in the very back of my mind. its like in baseball, youre pitching a perfect game, but you dont tell yourself that until the bottom of the eighth inning. hope that helps some
