Character flaw(ed)
Alright. I know your character has to have good points and bad points. Strengths and weaknesses. He/She can't be too perfect. The problem is, I'm having trouble making my main character flawed. See, I've got his strengths. But his weaknesses, I'm not sure if they're enough. Any suggestions for weaknesses? Or should I just write, and maybe the weaknesses will come later as the story develops? Here's my character's personality so far:
Davian
- a bit on the quiet side. He's not exactly loud, but he's not too quiet either
- naughty/mischievous, got into trouble a lot when he was younger, along with his best friend
- loyal
- patient, good listener
- curious, natural curiosity also gets him into trouble quite a few times
- stubborn, doesn't easily change his mind about something
- quick learner, observant
- obsessed with an 'evil forest' that lies near his town - wants to go inside and see what it's hiding, as he believes it's hiding something
- animal lover, good with animals
So, the only bad points are stubborn and maybe the obsession with the forest - which isn't much, I'm thinking.
