What exactly is in a novel writing tutorial?

Some of my friends have been showing me around college saying that since I want to be a writer I should go there because of the writing tutorials that are going on. But they cant actually tell me anything about them.

So... I was wondering if any of you had done a college writing tutorial? Or any kind of novel writing tutorial that wasnt online. I'm just wondering whats it like and what it contains.

Well no, I'm in Ireland, [ if you're talking about the place I just found on google.] I just mean those kinds of tutorials that are offered by many colleges, if you know anything about them.

mammamaia is on a distinguished road
Send a message via MSN to mammamaia
just google for colleges that offer them!... their websites will provide the description you're looking for... i just did that, and here's just one example:

Quote:
4. 134W. Writing Tutorial: the1-hour, 1 credit Writing Tutorial can be attached on a co-registration basis to an existing subject matter course
DESCRIPTION Prereq.: Eng. 110
This Tutorial is added-on to a subject matter course on a co-registration basis. "Co-registration" means that all students in a writing tutorial must be in the same subject-matter course, but all students in the subject-matter course need not be in the writing tutorial. So, there can be a 75-person lecture course with only one, 30 person writing tutorial add-on.
  • The Tutorial meets for 50 minutes per week to work on writing that is relevant to the subject matter of the main course.
  • The instructor of the subject-matter course is required to teach one or more of the attached writing tutorials.
  • The writing work-load criteria for all W-courses for all W courses apply to Writing Tutorials.
  • Tutorials can be repeated for credit.
