A Software That Will Help Me With My Book Layout?

Can anyone reccommend a software that will help me whilst laying out my book?

I want to make it look professional before I hand the finished item into publishers.

Word

All you need to make it presentable to a publisher is a standard but good sized font and to double-space it. Possible justify it. Word is all you need for this.

sorry, heid, but margins should NEVER be justified, unless printing up one's own brochures or newspaper... margins for submitted mss must be left-aligned only...

and only acceptable font size is 12pt... most preferred/best is courier... no fancy font should be used for the ms, and no different font should be used for title, or anywhere else in the ms...

dean... what do you mean by 'hand it in'?... have you queried a publisher and they've asked to see the full ms?... or, are you self-publishing and are ready to send the ms to the printer [or pod]?...

i have a ms format guide i'll be happy to send you if you email me... it's vital that you only submit a professional-looking ms, if you're dealing with a paying publisher... otherwise, they may not even look at it beyond the first page...

if you're going the self route with a pod or whatever, it's still important that your ms have no errors and that it is done in standard ms format... some of these companies do their own 'arranging' and some want the ms ready-to-print, in pdf... it's important that you follow their directions, if you're taking that path...

best of luck with your submission!

love and hugs, maia
