Help? Essay help needed!
I literally have an essay due today, and I have two problems. #1, I'm not sure if you're supposed to indent a quote if it goes over 4 lines (I know you're supposed to with a research paper but wasn't sure about it for an essay). #2, How do you give a quote of something that was not numbered on page. For example, I got a quote by John Milton off of a quote website which did not list a page number, for it was a spoken quote, how would I quote that? One of my teachers said "center the text, and put under the quote -Milton." But I wasn't sure if that was correct. Can someone please help me soon? If you don't respond by 12 o'clock it'll be too late so don't bother responding after that. Thanks.

my point is this; you don't pm people telling them to respond to a thread, it's just not nice, and besides, i don't have a clue

ask the teacher... no one else can tell you what he/she wants... if it's too late to do that, just do what you think is best, and cross your fingers...
and, next time, don't leave it till the last dying second!... teachers are there to teach, so ask questions, when you don't know what to do... it's what you're SUPPOSED TO DO!

Dear In a Bind...
I'm with Bheid in that I don't have a freakin' clue. As you are 'desperate' I suggest you use wit, charm and all the writing talent you can muster. Sometimes a good performance on the page will grant concession with regard to some of the 'rules'. (Yes, that's pathetic advice, but I don't have any useful advice...) I'd help you with this if I could, though. Good luck with your dilemma.

p.s.
Try googling it. Write what you 'know' then research the unknowns on the net.

If this was a lecture or public address, cite the speaker's name, followed by the title of the lecture (if any) in quotation marks, the organization sponsoring the lecture, the location and date.
Example:
Quinn, Karen. "John Singleton Copley's Watson and the Shark." Museum of Fine Arts. Boston, 1 July 1993.
If this was from a published interview, name the person interviewed, followed by the word "Interview" and the publication in which the interview was printed. If the interview has a titile, put it in quotation marks after the interviewee's name and do not use the word "Interview."
I think the first of these is more likely for your situation.
Oh, and I highly recommending getting your hands on a nice book calle A Writer's Reference by Diana Hacker. It's really good at preventing emergencies....
