I always need music, it's pretty much a requirement. Music usually inspires me to write my stories. I love instrumental and soundtrack type music as they tend to fit the mood. Sometimes I'll listen to good game music like Silent Hill or Resident Evil when I'm writing my horror stuff. It really does help. I also need at least one can of soda. However, I can't give you a reason behind this.

What works best for me is usually insomnia. Like 4 in the morning and I haven't slept for two days. My brain just sort of cuts itself away from the world and well, it's fantastic. I can't comprehend what a god damn genius I am. Of course a good nights sleep usually takes the shine off the page. And that is when the editing starts.
Not very practical I know. I also tend to find new places to write. i get bored by my surroundings very easily. Luckily I live in London, so i'm spoilt. But I can never quite capture in the daytime what I get at night.

-I generally always have the T.V. on. I like the sound and the fact that something is on. It's on while i am drawing, painting, listening to music( T.V is muted) , while I'm doing homework, or on the computer.
It feels empty when its not on. Either the T.V. or music.
- i write things down all the time. Or i draw them out.
- i talk to myself ( lol )
- sometimes I snack on something as well.

I find that I write more clearly directly after masturbating. It relaxes the body and clears the mind.

I write from the last scene to the first, it makes my complication much more interesting and I know exactly what I need in the exposition to make the story work.

I can get an idea in my head, but I can't do drafts before writing. I'm the type of writer that just writes off the top of their head. I also have noticed I write better with music and even better in the dark.

Writing tips, eh? I can do that! It's one of the few things I can write at the moment...
Okay, here goes:
1. I've noticed most people seem to need music or television on to write. I'm sort of the same... music influences my mood, which in turn influences the scenes I feel like writing, and my writing style in general. Books influence these things to a much, much greater degree. If I get stuck on a particularly difficult scene, I find one like it in one of my favorite books and read it. If it's powerful enough, I usually find that I can break through my block as easily as if it were nothing but a thin sheet of ice. (Ooh! Simile!) I just make sure I don't go overboard. (I read this one book once, and I cried for about two hours after I finished, no joke; it was freaky, scary, and tragic.)
2. I find that my ideas flow the best if I'm moving. My absolute favorite thing to do while thinking about my stories is to swing; I can do it mindlessly, and not have to worry about hurting myself, and at the same time, I can devote my entire conscious to thinking. It's great! I also find that somersaulting in circles around a large trampoline does much the same thing (the only difference is, I get both a headache and a dizzy spell right after).
Book!

I love to write at night. Maybe 1-2:00 AM. Everything is dark and quiet which makes it easier to live in my story and often times create a world.
The other place/time I absolutely love to write is on the end of a gas dock up in Canada during the sunset. It's usually cold, though :-/.

I write (well, type) in silence, sometimes (though seldom) I'll have music on, but television will make me lose my concentration. I form ideas in my head, sometimes fully, before having them transform into words.
I replay scenarios I intend to include in the story, or imagine what certain characters will do in everyday situations (which doesn't necessarily have to be incorporated into the actual story). Then I imagine what it would be like described in words.
The characters' traits or minor storylines will be derived from personal experience, or the experience of people I know. None of my work is wholeheartedly fictional. I've always been able to make myself relate to at least one of the characters in my work, because I know that if I can relate to him/her on some level, then others will be able to as well.
