a conundrum

there is a compitition for writing, you write three chapters and submit that and a synopsis, the first prize (the only prize) is a publishing contract.

the problem is you have to be over 16, im a year and a couple of monthes off that point, i cant lie about my age because if i win it will be obvious when i meet the publishers, i cant put someone elses name on it (like a sister or parent) as that will probably come back and bite everyone in the ass,
i could give the work to a parent or sister so they own it even though i wrote it. what do you guys n' gals think i should do?

Look around. These kinds of competitions are common enough if one looks hard enough.

Sneaking in by getting a front is liable to put you in a world of hurt. For one, think of this. If you win and get published...

How are you supposed to use that writing experience to sell other works in your own name without admitting to the fraud?

Wait. Your time will come.

If you develop your skills (or "skillz," though Kane's sarcasm seems to hvae gone unnoticed), you won't need a competition to get published.
At the moment, may I suggest you work on your punctuation, capitalization, and grammar? From what I've read of your work, that is what needs the greatest improvement.

I agree with everyone here.

Just because you miss entering this contest doesn't mean it's the end of the line for you.

I had the exact same problem.

There was a contest that I was advised to enter by my editor, but you had to be 18 at the time of entering.

Unfortunately I still have 2 months until my birthday and even though I'd be 18 at the time of the judging, I was still not eligible.

I thought off all the same things, but unfortunately it's illegal for someone to pass your work off as their own.

It sucks, I know, but there will be more contests.
