Some advice please

I'm usually most interested in writing poetry or stories, but besides the occasional writers block I'm really not sure 1. whether it's any good, and 2. whether i'm doing it right. I'd just appreciate some ideas on conventions and how things are supposed to be structured to help improve my writing
Thanx in advance

It's really hard to give that kind of advice without seeign what you've written.

So my best advice would be to find an appropriate forum and put something out there.

We need some more details to attempt an answer here kalinda. Which conventions, structures to do what?

Talia's right that the best way is to give us some examples & ask questions when we have it in front of us.

Also, in Critiques & Advice (I think) there's a sticky at the top about poetry forms etc.

Writing Tips & Advice may also answer some of your questions.
