Childrens story
I have to write a childrens story for english. I had to choose one topic out of six, and the one i chose was 'it certainly is a frog's life.'
My only problem is that I have absolutely no idea what the story should be about? Some frog that has a good day?
Any suggestions would be great

the subject seems to imply a humorous, satirical situation, since it's similar to the old line, 'it's a dog's life'... so, why not make it about one day in a frog's life, highlighting a series of comical or ironic incidents the frog has to deal with...
such as being attacked by a fly he misses with his usually dead-aim tongue, falling off his lily pad, and so forth...
hope this helps... love and hugs, maia

Having grown up with fairy tales, I'd make up a story about a frog prince - and then tell how boring it is to become a man and having to kiss all these girls. Always having to change form whenever a girl kisses him... Something along those lines. Could be funny, too.

I like this idea - a new spin on an old story.
Definately don't think a serious approach is called for, there are a great many opportunities here! How about frog culture that's always trying to get one up on those damn weasels? - Something just really original.
(PS: I know I'm being pedantic, but if it's for English class, make sure you call it a children's story not a childrens story.)

Thank you all for your help but I actually had to write it after mammamaia gave her suggestion.. I was away and it turns out it was due yesterday. I MIGHT post the story.. after some fine tuning.
It's about a frog called Mr. Frog (yes thats right, Mr. Frog) who lives in a wonderful place called rainland where it always rains. One day, Mr. Frog went out to catch his breakfast, but, to his surprise, missed the fly he was aiming for. This makes Mr. Frog very sad. Then it stops raining!
So Mr. Frog is sulking around when his friend comes along...
I'll leave you in suspense

You need to find out about frogs, their habits, predators etc. then take it
from there. If you want to get serious about it.
I kinda' like the whole twist on the frog prince, myself.

as this is a nearly 3-month-old thread, ladybird, i'm wondering if perhaps you didn't notice that the date of the last post appears at the top of the message?
it's a great help in determining which posts to reply to and which ones are, in effect, 'finished'..
if i missed your intro, welcome to the forum!
love and hugs, maia
