Allocated Time
While I'm thinking about it I though I might just add something. I would like to know how much time do you spend on your writing? an hour a day? maybe longer? I usually write everyday, maybe writing 1000 words to 1500, and on the odd occassion I might write more. I watched a documentary on Stephen King not so long ago which said that he sued to write 1500 words a day. Thanks in advance for your input.

500-1000 words a day (or two)---sometimes, more. Usually, they aren't even the actualy story, just things having to do with it.

For me, it depends on my current mood, how inspired I am in a given day, and how easily the words flow. Sometimes I can sit down and write several pages, other times only a few paragraphs. But I DO try to write a bit every day if I can.

Um, it depends.
I used to write about 7000 words some days, 2500 min, when I was in Nanowrimo, maybe more. Sometimes I'd spent about 10 hours a day (not consecutive, mind you) working on the outlines, sometimes 1 hour if I'm really stumped, a couple hours if I'm actually writing the story....
So, yeah, it depends.

Usually an hour or two, but not all of it is story-writing. A lot of that (at this point in time) goes towards constructing articles in weblog or randomly writing anything that comes to mind. They usually lead to bigger ideas and eventually stories.
When I'm really in the groove, I write anywhere up to 12,000 words a day (just a draft, mind you) in about 6-8 hours. I usually like to get the story out of my head as quickly as possible, print it out, leave it for a week or so, then edit and rewrite.

The way I write fluctuates so much it is difficult for me to say. My main problem is that I get so attatched to my ideas (the worst thing you can do, I know) that when I feel the onset of writers block I immediately hide the piece I'm working on in the cavernous depths of my draw. Suffice to say they rarely see the light of day again for fear of 'ruining' them. What can I say? It's my downfall as a writer. So how long do I spend writing a day? Sometimes not at all.
