Borken saints wasn't bad for a web/ movie/ play/ comic/book. Otherwise, all the books that come to mind also exist in physical form. Hatrack has some good, hard to find O.S. Card stories, but they were published at some point.

I don't know of any that have been successful, and I think most mainstream novelists have been turned off the idea after Stephen King tried with The Plant. For a little while The Plant seemed to be succeeding, but in the end I think more people were stealing it than paying for it, so - I believe - SK almost didn't upload the last chapters. I could be wrong on that though.

No, you're not wrong. It was an interesting experiment that Stephen King tried but once again we see that maybe the only ones who are able to really make a profit from The Internet are pornographers. King continued posting of chapters was contingent on the honor system: He wanted to see if those people downloading it would pay. The first couple of chapters did very well and people paid for it but as it went on, more people were downloading for free than paying so he stopped.
Getting back to the subject at hand, if you head on over to FRONTIER PUBLISHING http://www.frontierpublishing.net/ you'll find nine completed novels, ranging from gritty urban crime to horror to contemporary fantasy. I'm sure you'll find something there you'll enjoy

I'm not sure if we're all on the same page. I'm talking about webnovels-----very similar to webcomics, or stories that are are updated with small installments every few days. They (to my knowledge) are not real novels by authors that are just posted on the internet.

I found this site by accident looking for/and promoting my own webnovel, so thought I should put my 2 cents in.
(btw, I think you may have read mine a while back...)
My own one, Midnight Trigger is exactly that - a 'novel' in the webcomic format. Like I mentioned before, I think you have read some of it (someone on the old forums with your name or the same name). Anyway, I begin updating again in March (bigger and better then before).
Another one you might find interesting is Fables of the Morning After. Jason (the author) calls it a Webcomic Without Pictures, and updated two or three times a week.
Other then my own and Fables, I havent been able to find any other in the format you are thinking of either.

http://www.man1bank0.com was very interesting.
I actually read the whole thing in one installment, and donated to it.
