My "writing music" is Ani Difranco. listen to her lyrics... she's amazing. I always get fueled by her work. A lot of people have never heard of her... atleast not anyone outside New York. I live in Missouri and no one here has a clue who she is. She's an acquired taste. Ya either love her or hate her. Oh well.. I hope some of you will try her out.

Solaris, I think I agree on the whole no-vocals thing. At the moment I'm writing a fantasy title—sans elves; I can’t stand the buggers—and I find it really easy to construct situation and imagery by listening to orchestral versions of some Final Fantasy tracks. Nobou Uematsu is a legend.

Strangedaze, I don’t see nothing weird in recording your dreams for inspiration. What are dreams but pure, unedited creativity? Unfortunately, I don’t seem to remember many of my dreams anymore. Still, my stories make a lot more sense than my night time adventures ever did.

I’ve never carried around notebooks with me; if I have an astounding idea I’m not going to forget it in a hurry. I do write most stuff down at some point though. If nothing else, at least I have a record of ideas that I can merge into more successful concepts at a later date.

Woo hoo I properly conveyed the mood then. I love it when a plan comes together!
