I'm getting ready to submit some shorts stories for the first time to various magazines and journals. I have the Writers Market and have found a couple places that "fit" my writing, I'm not sure though with the proper way to send my info. Most ask for a query letter and also the complete manuscript. Do I use a full size manilla envelope so that I don't have to fold my story?

Also, is it acceptable to send multiple stories in the same package (I plan on mentioning that in the query)?

Definitely put your story in a full-sized envelope. I use 9x12. You want it to be neat.

If the magazine you're sending your stories to takes multiple submissions, then yes, you can put them in the same envelope. Separate the stories with paper clips.
