excellent album to write to
I mostly listen to alot of singer/songwriters of the amazingly good variety, ones who only need a guitar and a handful of instruments. it brings an intimate quality to every action, and it helps with the ol writing. I highly reccomend Bruce Springsteen's "Nebraska" which doesn't sound like anything you have heard him do, it is just him, a guitar and a harmonica, no E Street Band. It is really gentle and then harsh at times, and helps you zone out, like classical music. you don't pay attention to every word, but it just fuels the writing, and your thoughts as well. I also reccomend alot of Townes Van Zandt, particularly "Rear Veiw Mirror" for the same reasons, it is just him and a fiddler. It drives my girlfriend nuts because I listen to it so much, but, those are the breaks.

I enjoy writing to music, also . . . Some of my favorites include Tchaikowsky's Piano Concerto No.1, 'Man of La Mancha', and Josh Groban

I don't know if it's just me, but I cannot write to music....oh wait, I wrote my write-off entry to the Barenaked Ladies. Okay, well that's the exception. Usually, I start singing along and then all attempts at writing are lost.

Adam, I guess you mean the Tchaikowsky? Another really good one to write to is Camille San-Saens(I can never remember how to spell his name)'s Piano Concerto No.2. I love the 2nd movement the best. And Rachmaninov's sonata No . . . 2, I think, is also really good to listen to.
