Language tsk tsk

I have a story I'm working on, but it has dialogue that sounds the way people actually talk (at least, the way these two talk), complete with the f word and such. Is it inappropriate to post it here, if it's just part of the story?

I'd post it. It's better to make it seem more real than discrete. I mean, look at Stephen Kings novels. They're full of swears because thats how us people in Maine are.

All language even profanity, has a place. If it's appropriate to the story then by all means include it. We edit out pornography, not profanity. Some of the best dialogue in both books and film is riddled with bad language, and it's good because it's real.

A good suggestion to keep your story on though, is to censor a tad, not by removing the words, but by using say the first letter. since we all talk that way, we'll certainly understand what you mean. and those that dont', don't need to understand.

Spudley is an unknown quantity at this point
The only thing I'd say about using profanity is don't over use it. Use it sparingly, and it can be an effective way to gring your characters to life and add emotion to your writing. Use it too much, and all you'll acheive is to destroy any effect it may have.
