Wikipedia? Bah!
Forget it. My post was a knee-jerk.

All I can say, OX, is don't trust it as a encyclopaedia, cos it ain't one. The articles can be, and are, written by anyone.

Well, I wouldn't go that far, but there are doubts to its reliability and validity.

Wikapedia is a decent first stop, to get a rough overview and pick up information that you can verify elsewhere.

I like wikipedia. Sure everyone can post there, but that also means everyone can correct it if they think something's wrong. Besides, most articles there have links and references to other articles anyway, so we can double-check.

It's a good starting point, not a destination.

Well when researching anything it's always good to get several different sources, but wiki information can be pretty reliable. The articles are extremely well maintained, to put it in perspective some of my friends and I one night edited the article on Cars for a joke based on the Adult Swim Show ATHF, and with in two minutes the article was fixed and our joke deleted.
Wiki is probably a better source of info than just googling and getting some random [dot]com that's on the first page
