Just for curiosity's sake, if everyone could post what genre they are writing in. No need to explain, just say general fiction, historical nonfiction, fantasy, etc. Thanks!

Mine is a thriller (fiction), switching between history and the modern world; the situation is one in which complex elements, driven by religious extremism, extreme nationalism, etc. (factors of human arrogance) are threatening the very fabric of freedom of thought and will within the world itself.
To top it all off, I've included some (very subtle) fantasy elements as well.

I had a story that had reached about 60k words, but I got started hating it and deleted it. Many others hardly reach more than 10k words before I delete them, but then there are the occasional one that lasts until the very end that makes it all worth it.
My current one is about 30k right now, but I'm only in part 1 of 4 or 5. I don't use chapters, though. At all.

Mine's a fantasy at about 113,000 words with only two and a half short chapters to go untill it's finished ^.^ (Okay, so I mean untill the first installment of a series that will be 3 to 5 books long is finished.)

I'm at 57,000 words now but I'm away for the weekend, and then the kids are off school, so progress may be slower in the coming weeks. The night time might become my shift.

At 14,888 words on this project, just a drop in the ocean really. I've taken a two month break, but now that my time has been freed substantially, I hope to do 20,000 over the Summer. It is a literal and metaphorical ghost story, and I've never connected with a set of characters as I have done with these. It's also a murder mystery and a love story, so a combination of genres. Just talking about it has made me all sorts of excited again!

I finished my first novel a few months ago at over 130,000 words. The second novel in the series will be a lot more. I'm only on my fifth chapter and have done over 40,000 words.

I hit 38,000 over the weekened. The big push of today should put me in at 40,000. The story rocked over the weekend and I still love it from then.

I'm at approximately 4,000 words after a couple hours writing. Preface and first chapter are all that that includes. Maybe a little short, but that's okay.
I'm excited about this one! We'll see how it goes.
Good luck to all you guys

Mine's somewhere between Spec fic and Sci Fi when it comes to genre, and I have some 200,000 words in the first draft with three chapters still to go.

My current word-count is about none written. I'm still working on the story in my head first. There should be plenty of space up there.
Not sure what genre to put it in. It's a drama/horror about a woman becoming a Batman-style superhero (that doesn't care much for saving people), but since she suck at it, it will be part comedy as well. And sci-fi, obviously, with all the gadgets. Who wants to limit themselves to a genre anyway?

I finished my novel's first draft with around 60,000 words. Now I am editing and elongating the novel. There is no work more tedious than editing ahhhh!

I'm 11,000 words in. This is going to be my fifth novel-length story (I'm not referring to them as 'novels' for obvious reasons). I'm writing in Finnish so the word count equals roughly 15,000 words in English (based on my own calculations). It's a soft science fiction story set in Finland in year two thousand twenty-something.
At the moment I'm writing my story at work. I work in a library and right now it's nice and quiet. Apparently the customers realize that a genious at work shouldn't be disturbed
