    Crazy Dream

We tip toe around the edges
    as we orbit and tilt.
    We watch the planet wobble
like a tossed coin thrown into
    this well.

Its a crazy dream and its
    bruised and bumped
its a crazy dream and its
    making me ill.

We tip toe around the edges
only to fall asleep, its the end
we are concerned with, not the
    beginning or the middle.

And its a crazy dream and its
bruised and bumped, its a crazy
dream, and its making me ill.

"it's the end we are concerned with..."

That line jumped at me. It is a truth, and that's a pity.

Thinking of you, I wrote this morning. Hope you don't mind, that I'm posting here. You are sometimes my muse.

    “Fire!”

First the dying, then the burning
    fills nostrils, removes evidence
of what was and wasn’t. A bonfire
    lit years too late

    yet not too late
    licks wounds. Healed,
    she'll shout, as fireflies rise,
    her name, not his.

    With love, sas
    .

Man... We're like as dumb as flat-earthers except we can't help it. I mean, the end is coming, right? We try to prepare for the future, you know, build and save, and then that happens anyway. Great. Someone get me a drink.

    Franciska Clausen (*1899 - †1986) Germany/Denmark,
She went through all the –ismes at that time Constructivism, Cubism, Neo-plasticism, Surrealism and Purism.
No scandals are to be found about her – she didn’t love/marry a teacher or a fellow artist.
She didn’t flee from the war – and she lived through both WWI and WWII in Germany and Denmark.
She didn’t end up in Mexico but died in the same town where she was born: Aabenraa, first German, later Danish, even she went to Berlin and Paris for teachings.
Her most influential teacher was Fernand Léger, which especially is to be seen in her cubistpictures (the rounded figures).

    Always love these bobo!

From her autoportrait, I surmise she liked her cocktail and had a screw loose in her brain.

    Thanks audience
I think you're right, sas - the glass in her auto has a meaning
The screw, on the other hand might not be a reference to herself, but one to her major work, called the Screw, which has got much acclaim:

There's also another figure in her auto, which is a reference to another work, don't know the name, but here it is:

    - and just for the fun of it, and because you are such good group to do something for, you get a couple of more:

She's very 'clean' in her paintings - nothing blurred or undefined

Thanks, bobo, for info. If I put a screw in my head on self-portrait I'd be saying ,"Screw you".I am not trying to swear here, as I know you don't like when I use every word in my crayon box, but that's a fact. She may be using that screw to say other things: I'm screwed; Screw them; Screwed up; Screw it! Ain't this fun?

You may be right there about the screw

    - and then it's even more funny it is so cherished in the official museum world - but it is a good pic, and very good made.

I'm glad I know so many of your attittudes (if that's the right word) - should I ever come to write about your future paintings

Hope Fire is skipping us to skip playfully somewhere.

I found the following unique poem in a book I bought for $2.99, at a used bookstore. Bargain.

"AN OLD MAN COUGHS AND HACKS
    UP A DEAD BODY, I THINK IT'S
    HIS FORMER SELF"

I don't know, Thomas. I too have seen this scene. My grandfather coughs all night
as the wrecked limbs of ghost bloom from his throat. They climb out from the war
that still deploys his dreams. They stare at him, some of them soldiers with half their
skulls blown into pink dust, some of them charred mothers holding the air where
a child's hand used to be. They stare at him & they do not counter attack or haunt,
they sing, they cry, they spend all night with my grandfather telling each other
the tales of their first loves & telling each other I Love You. Thomas, I have seen a
man love what is dead because of his hands. I have seen white men in Mississippi
weeping near tall trees. I have seen couples sit by the playground with no child of
their own. Thomas, my grandfather's mouth is crowded with the dead. He knows
not their names, but sings their prayers in perfect Vietnamese. He chants until the
soft red dawn, until his tongue is bloody with their old music, trying to save his soul
from what was required of his hands.
