    Tribute to Foxee

Over the last two years, since I took over WF, there has been one person who is largely responsible for restoring the fortunes of this site. She has worked diligently to bring this forum back to life and to revive the sense of community. As well as being a terrific mentor to the staff she has provided a very positive input to every area of the site.

The staff devote their time free to the site and it can be a thankless task at times. There are some who simply don't appreciate that the site could not exist without the efforts of staff. Whatever problems there have been, and there have been a few, Foxee has shown herself more than able for the task.

The time has come for her to focus on her own projects and to devote more time to her own family life. I want to be the first to thank her for her valuable contribution and look forward to seeing her input on the board as a regular member.

Once again, thank you for all you've done for the site, Foxee. I wish you all the best.

And here's the cake which was promised:

I couldn't resist a slice, it was so yummy. Hey, I should have made sure it wasn't poisonous, right? Hope you don't mind.

I echo the sentiments made by the Captain, and couldn't have worded it better. Good luck with your novel, Foxee, and enjoy the times you won't be chasing members around the WF corridors shouting in their wake that they must behave.

    See you around the boards.
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

We've lost a good leader but the forum has gained a brilliant member. I'm sure Foxee won't stray far from a place I know she considers a second home.

    Good luck with everything, Foxee.

Denial is still clinging to me like the rancid scent of past its prime fryer fat stubbornly sticks to threads worn by a short order cook. In lieu of resorting to a blubbering ramble, it's best I echo what the Captain has already said so eloquently. Please accept my eternal gratitude for all you've done for me both publicly and privately. You're the sweetest peach in the bushel, Foxee, and your guidance, strength of character, and ever-present wit will be sorely missed by all of the staff. Infinite hugs for Milady who taught by impeccable example and whose blue shoes will never be satisfactorily filled.

So much for sneaking out I must have tripped the alarms.

Thank you, folks! As you can see I'm still here on WF and ready to be the WF Disco Queen in my new gold shoes. Luv ya!

Now I don't have an excuse not to finish the novel.

You used the wrong exit - the one marked 'Do Not Open This Door'.

After all that time of NOT opening that door I wanted to find out why I wasn't supposed to open it. Could definitely have been worse. I could have ended up in the alligator pit not that I'm saying that there is an alligator pit anywhere on the site, no...no...just scratch that. <.< >.>

Thanks, Garza. The newsletter is really all you, though. You always do a tremendous job, thank you for that.

Foxee, you're just the best. I'd give you a massive hug if I could, but I can't. It'd be a really good hug. Honestly.

*hugs Alan* Oh my gosh! You're wearing a shirt! Okay, not much of one but surely the sky is going to fall. Thanks for the kind words.

For a writer Baron, you could have been more careful with your phrasing, for one horrible moment I though Foxee had popped her clogs!
