Feeling competitive? Want to finish something?

... Then how about you consider entering this month's Literary Maneuver?

Every month (or so) we conduct a challenge, forum-wide, and everyone is welcome to enter.
    This month's challenge is :

Song into Story (click link to be taken to the challenge thread)

The idea is to take a song and to transform it, however you choose, into a story.
The word limit is 650 words– Not including the title.

Submissions close this coming Friday (21.1.2011) So get scribbling.

If you win you get royal treatment around the forum for the next week, and can be a totally obnoxious prat about it. (Actually, maybe not)... But you do get all the glory of a victory, and then you have a title which you can try and hold onto in future LM challenges.

If you don't win, you still get four critiques from our excellent judges for a short-short story that you maybe didn't even know you had in you.

Maybe that short story will be the one that spurs your next big idea. Maybe you submit it to a magazine and finally get yourself published. Maybe it'll give you something to show to friends when they ask to see some of your writing.

Good practice for learning how to finish a story (something novelists only get to do so often)... and good sport.

Have I convinced you yet? Do I need to get some chocolate?

    Haha. Come on. Do it!
