Ability to edit the title of your piece

I'm wondering if this tool can be added to this site? I know it is available on another forum I post on. Here, if you make a mistake on your title, or even if you want to add the word 'edit' to show it's a new version, you can't do it. Is there a reason that this is set up this way?

I don't know the reason but you can PM a moderator with a link and a request to change it.

It is the default setting on most forums, Gumby. As to whether it can be altered with vBulletin, you'll have to wait for an admin to drop by. I know that in the old version of vBulletin, there was a time limit the admin could set to allow thread title changes, but it was never unlimited time. Not sure if that's carried over into this version.

I just edited my title. Didn't split into two posts. Had "Mathadone Home"
"I think it's blessed are the cheese makers." "...What's so special about the cheese makers?", Life of Brian

Ah, I thought maybe it was a built in limitation. I've always gotten a pretty fast response from moderators, so that's not a problem. It's probably just vanity that I hate to appear an idiot if I've messed up my title, and hoping no one will notice in the meantime while I slip in unobtrusively and correct.

Nope. I was kicking myself when I put that in my title. You'll have to "go advanced" to edit it.

It must be like Ilasir said, that you only have a minute or so to edit the title that shows on the forum subject page. If you come back later to edit, you can only edit what is inside of your post, not the subject title line. At least, it wouldn't allow me to do so, even in advanced mode.
