Thread: Poetry challenge, old and new

Poetry challenge:
We have several challenges running at the moment.
The limerick challenge where people take turns to construct a limerick line by line
Last line challenge, this challenges you to write a poem to match the given last line.
The Romantic challenge asks you to write about a mundane object in a way that brings out another side, as the romantic poets did.
A rhyme in time, gives you the rhymes from a poem and asks you to write new lines to match them.
These challenges are ongoing as are the cinquain thread and the un-holy haiku thread in word games.
However it would be nice to re-instate the more formal fortnightly challenge with a poll at the end and the winner choosing the form of the next challenge. In the past this has been both a subject and a first line challenge.
I shall make an arbitrary choice to get us started, it will be a subject challenge and the subject will be laughter.
