    Justice is Blind LM competition

    05/02/10

    Justice is Blind

The time has come for yet another Literary Maneuvers competition. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pen or otherwise devise 500 words that tell the story embedded in the picture below:

Everyone is welcome to participate. Note: Judges are welcome to participate but their entries cannot receive a score.

Submissions will be accepted until midnight EST, May 16 (2 weeks)
    Judging period: May 17 - May 24
The judges for this round are Kat, KangtheMad, Sam W, and moderan. Judges will submit their scores to me via pm and I will post them without the names appended. Judges, if you have any questions about scoring, please refer to LM adjudication. If that doesn't answer your questions, my pm box is at your disposal.
Results will be posted on or before May 25.

Looks cool Mod. Glad that pic got chosen because I wrote my entry in a rare fit of inspiration already.
Though I might decide it's crappy if I re-read it. Ha.

So come on everyone, bring it on.
You all spend too much time on here anyway

Doubtless I'm missing something, but wasn't there a story in a pinned Justice is Blind workshop thread that seems to be MIA?

No...the story is still in the workshop, it just isn't in the LM thread. It's linked instead

I'm still probably missing something but the link doesn't work for me (says to contact an admin) and I don't see the story in the workshop. Hope this isn't an IE7 issue, I'd have to stop being lazy. pp

Six more days, people. 500 words about what a picture says to you. If a picture's worth a thousand, then you'll have leftovers!

Six days! Six days!! Nobody told me about any competition. There's not enough time. I can't breathe. . . .I can't breathe.

3 1/2 days still to pen your shortform masterpiece! We have entries so far from the extremely effective darknite_johanne, the exquisitely gifted alanmt, the fabulously skilled Dreamworx95, the lovely and talented Sigg, the wonderfully able NathanBrazil, the new and splendidly capable PigHeaded, and a twofer from the outrageously prolific ppsage.
Surely you'd like to join this august company with a 500-word romp through your imagination, prompted by the black-and-white photograph in the first post in this thread. We'd love to have you.
At the very least you can try to get me to run out of descriptive modifiers

Three days left to get in on the fun!
We're up to nine contestants, with the addition of the fantastically adroit Like a Fox and the indisputably sophisticated Eluixa
to the roster. The premise is simple. Create 500 words about the picture embedded in the initial post in this thread, paste it into a little window, post the url in the official contest thread, sit back and enjoy the quiet of post-creation while waiting for our tribunal of slavering beast judges to rip the tender parts of your creation to itty-bitty shreds (not really-we're all rather nice, but it sounds better if we're monsters).
The contest ends at midnight EST Sunday. be there or be...I dunno, parallelogrammatic?
