Be a Christian and be a writer. Both can exist in the same world, and you don't need a separate forum to prove you're a Christian.

I think that the OP was worded in a very unfortunate way. Christian writing can be its own genre (there are Christian bookstores) and in that way I could have almost supported this. But not on WF because it would be a flame magnet.
However, if we start a Christian forum, then is an argument to start forums for every religion, niche, and subgroup. If you're writing fiction and it happens to be Christian it still can be critiqued in the appropriate genre forum or the writer's workshop. If you're writing Christian Non-Fiction it can be critiqued in Non-Fiction or Writer's Workshop.

There's a reason why religion should generally not be discussed inside chat rooms. A forum is only a step up from a chat room.
Absolutely not.

I said nothing about praying. I suggested a place where people can post things they've written about God. And who are you to say what is and isn't writing? As far as I'm concerned, writing can be about anything and everything. Christians are FULLY CAPABLE of "learning the craft" of writing. I cannot believe the amount of anti-Christ people on this site.

I'll take a line from Reverand Wright:
English is a language, not a religion.
It's not "anti-Christ," it's "pro-fairness." If there is a forum for Christ, who is to stop a forum for Thor, or Apollo, Allah, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and the Great Pink Unicorn? I'm looking forward to the spritual animism forum, myself.
There are infinite religions. Singling out one and catering to it is not the mission of this site. It is a writing forum. Writing about God can go into either the fiction, nonfiction, or Writer's Workshop creativity sections of the site. Like every other piece of original writing that is posted on this site.

I don't think anybody is anti-Christ.
Just getting sick or Christians being pushy and having one-track heads.
There are PLENTY of Christer sites. This is a writing site.

Few people here are "anti-christ"; some people may not be Christian.
I think the replies have been worded badly. The sections to pst prose are very general. No single genre has it's own place, and thus it would be unfair to give Christian writings their own section. Beyond that, there's no real reason to have a seperate section for christian writings. The general forums are perfectly capable of providing a response-ful environment.

I don't think the reaction is too harsh.
Do you see people asking for special sections for gays or blacks (like there are any blacks on this forum) or Australians or women or children or whatever?
It's a messed up request that reflects a messed-up attitude and I don't think it's out of place to send a message of: don't push your special interest.

Hmm...where are these pushy Christians, Lin? It isn't pushy to ask a question.
