I am terribly sorry, but I am afraid that the crash was all my fault... you see, the web site knew that I was planning to upload plenty of cool pictures for you folks to describe, and all of the sudden it just shut down from karmic congestion. just a simple overload, thats all. sorry again, folks.

Hey All,
Since we have the owners attention, pehaps we could fix the word limit thing.
20,000 characters is not enough to post any works over 2000 words in a single post.
30,000 characters would fit works containing 3500 words and would make things a lot easier for those that post work here.
Thanks!

The problem is, Eggo, that you won't get as many replies for that one post when the work is that long. In my opinion, 20,000 is plenty. Any longer and you're talking about five minutes to read it, and a good twenty to properly critique it.
Sam.

If the story is being being spread between two posts, it hardly matters. Same content, just more posts.

I'm not sure. Feels more like my large colon after eating sauted pig brains - unsteady, kinda creepy.

And a pain in the ass to format for something that take two minutes to fix. But, so be it.

I'll just have to take your word on that.

Sorry, eggo. I was referring to Sam's post. I perfectly understand your reasoning for wanting the change.

Yes on the word count. My stories are often 3500 and apparently, at least good enough to hold the attention of some folks, because I get a fair number of crits.
It's a pain in the ass to divide them. It also creates an artificial break in the flow of the story -- this is what I really don't like.
My guess this this is a simple change in the control panel of the forum application. Maybe not, but well worth a look.

It is a simple change in the control panel. If it is something you want considered, make a new thread with the suggestion and see how many others would like to see it changed. If interest is high enough, then staff will discuss it.

This problem was discussed (I thought) before Sel and the answer was that the owner had control of that section of the board and didn't want to change it.
So, if that's not the case, I apologize.
Have seen it come up several times, perhaps no one has ever addressed it, just griped about it.
If that's all it takes, I'm sure that most would be in favor of it. We could open a subject and add a poll if that works for you guys.
