And when you quote part of my post Ox it does not have my name or the little arrow it does when done your way but looks like the one I did Sam's way.

Ah, but these computers get up to all sorts of mischief if you don't keep an eye on them.

Confusion more confounded. It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.

I simply created a quote on my keyboard instead of quoting your quote, with an Ox-generated [quote] as the first word and the one with the slash in it as the last word.

And that's what Sam showed me how to do so that I could partially quote something. Go on, admit it, he was right and you were wrong to say he wasn't. (and now I know what that little arrow does I know your signature isn't about Oxen at all)

Olly, The most I’ll admit to is this: when you said “how do I quote part of a quote?” or werds to that effect – I’m too lazy to go back and look for the precise terminology - I naturally assumed everyone else is as lazy as me and wants to learn the easy way to do things, my philosophy being that if there’s two ways to do something and one’s easier than the other, then why even think about the hard way? And so I set out the way it’s done by bringing up the other poster’s quote, then simply hitting a single key to achieve my goal.

In contrast, Sam’s way involves actually typing something.

Sod that for a game of soldiers.

Re signature, I recall someone once said “. . . we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender . . .” and those werds bore no relation to what actually happened, but it sounded good.

Ok admit nothing as usual, you stubborn old bovine. Bet her indoors says things like "you always have to be so bloody right" and you take it as a compliment. By the way this a writing forum, most of us regard a couple of lines typing as recreation rather than a "game of soldiers". Back using werds I see.

Okay, I wanted to know if this is the ~SUBMIT~ thread, if it is, then I want to know if there is a collaboration thread where you can submit a bit of a story and many members can join in the creation. If threre is,where is it? If there isn't, how can I start one?
~PS. If this wasn't the submit thread, where is it?
