One thread or many?
Recently I posted what hopefully will be the start of a novel (or technically a collection of dialogues with some narration thrown in) in the Workshop and as I appreciated the feedback I'll naturally want to post future additions to the story on occasion. Thus my question. Is it better to keep posting stuff like that in the original thread or should I create new threads now and then?
I realize that there's hardly any definative rules on the subject (or is there?) and people seem to use both sollutions so I'm mostly asking for everyone's opinion in the matter. What I want is, of course, as much critique as possible so my question can be summed up as: would you be more likely to critique something new posted in a 5+ pages long thread (where you've maybe read good stuff in the past) or a brand new one? There's also option number three which includes every potential version of "What kind of stupid question is that? I don't care".

I guess it's personal preference, Faustling. When you post something new in your old thread it automatically bumps it to the top of the queue. But, if the thread's five pages long, it could be a little annoying. By posting a new thread, you start afresh. I don't really know which is the best. Both have their pros and cons.
Sam.

If you need critique for a whole novel, then you need dedicated critiquers who're prepared to sit down and read the whole thing.
This forum isn't the best place for that, I think. For those whose work is speculative fiction, I recommend Critters Writers Workshop for that.

And if you want to critique a novel, be sure to ask your writer beforehand if s/he intends giving you the chapters to read in chronological order or whether they may turn up all over the place like a mad woman's muck!

I'm not talking about asking people to critique an entire novel (well, not yet anyway) but rather bits and pieces of what might some day become a novel.
Thanks for the link though, Non, I'll check it out.

English isn't Faustling's first language, mate.
You'll find Faustling's actual stories are properly spell-checked, and I think it's reasonable to make allowances on an international site for posts other than actual pieces for critique.

Beside what Non mentioned I should point out that regardless of the odd spelling mistake here and there my English is quite a bit better then some other post I've seen around here.

I like you and all Omg, but that's a real stupid comment to make, especially when Faustling's first language isn't English. I've read Faustling's work, and there's very little spelling mistakes, and it's pretty good too. Did you never hear the saying 'Don't judge a book by it's cover?'
Sam.
