Hello....new here, so I don't really know where this post should go.

Anyways, I have a (silly) question. In my high school American Literature/Composition class, we have to have a "writer's portfolio." Its just a binder with dividers/tabs where you put your essays, poems, and stories. Well, we have to decorate the cover and dividers so that it expresses us but also the views/expressions of America....
Usually, I would be ok with an assignment like this but since we have to connect our theme to both ourselves and the US, I am having a hard time! I would appreciate any input from you guys.

I'm not too sure myself where your question should go -

I guess a good place to start would be by deciding
what America means to you; what defines America or being American ...

is it the landscapes (lots of visual variety there - from the Appalachians to the Rockies, Yellowstone to Grand Canyon to Everglades to The Great Lakes to the mighty Mississippi ...),

the history (defining moments from Indigenous to Columbus, Independence, Civil War, to Pearl Harbor, JFK, Civil Rights, Challenger, 9/11, New Orleans),

the architecture and modern culture (New York to Seattle to San Diego to Miami, all stops in between, and even Hollywood, Broadway, Macdonalds and Microsoft)
